2018 aNother Festival
The Project was created as part of a cooperation between the project platforms Studio Acht from Taiwan and International Cultural Platform (iKultur) from Austria. At 2018 aNother Festival in WUK, Taiwanese erhu player Wang Ying-chieh performs and presents music on and with the modern erhu together with Taiwanese and Austrian composers. The project also collaborates with the Institute of Composition, Electroacoustics and Sound Engineers of the University of Music and Performing Arts, where she gives lectures and workshops on modern erhu playing techniques.
Over the last few years Wang Ying-chieh has collaborated with artists of various artistic backgrounds and has been invited several times as a soloist to music events and festivals in Germany and abroad. Between 2011 and 2017, she toured Europe and presented Chinese musical instruments in lectures and concerts. She has appeared in numerous music performances in England, France, Germany and Taiwan, including at small stages, conservatories, concert halls, galleries and public spaces. In 2017 she released her first CD ablum.
